His & Hers Bloody ProjectsBloody Project

Graeme MacRae Burnet and Lesley McDowell

Join award winning authors Lesley McDowell and Graeme MacRae Burnet in conversation as they put the cases of alleged infamous murderess, Madeleine Smith and fictitious murderer Roderick MacRae on trial.

Shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize 2016, 'His Bloody Project' is an astonishing read set in 1869 in the Scottish Highlands where a brutal triple murder leads to the arrest of Roderick MacRae.

A little closer to home, Madeleine Smith, one time resident of Birkenshaw Cottage in Rouken Glen Park, was the scandal of the decade after she was accused of poisoning her French lover in 1857. But did she do it...?
