Just two years ago Barrhead Library was housed in the town's old health centre. Bit grim outside, but a lovely atmosphere inside with a group of well kent staff on hand to help the locals.

What a difference today! We can now be found in a wonderful, bright, modern glass-fronted library with light flooding in to the beautifully equipped building we share with sports, business and employment agencies. No dusty books or 'quiet please' in this library - it's a hive of activity!

With over 98 hours of access, the library can be used morning, noon and night! You can borrow, return, collect reservations and renew books using the state-of-the-art self-service terminals. Come on in and explore what's on offer. Today, this ultra modern library and learning centre is still the place to come for books and DVDs, free WiFi and internet-ready computers as well as leisure classes and meeting rooms.

The on-site employability teams are upskilling local people with training, advice and qualifications to get back into work and we have a great selection of books to support local businesses to grow and flourish.
