How much does it cost to book a wedding?

What are the cancellation charges?

More than 28 days - no charge (except deposit)

Less than 28 days to 14 days - 50% of hire charge

Less than 14 days - 100% of hire charge

Am I able to have a wedding rehearsal?

Yes.  If you are being married by an East Renfrewshire Council Registrar and getting married in Eastwood House the Registrar will arrange a pre meeting with you.   This will take place approximately one to two weeks prior to your wedding. If you are not using an East Renfrewshire Council registrar and are using another officiant, please contact us if you require to use Eastwood House for a wedding rehearsal and we will arrange this for you at no extra charge.

At your pre meeting/rehearsal our experienced staff will discuss your arrangements including numbers attending, set up requirements and any other details to ensure your special day is a success.

How do I gain access to Eastwood House on the day of my wedding?

We recommend the bride enters Eastwood House by the side or rear entrance rather than through the main door so that she can make an entrance without being seen by any of the guests. However, this will depend on the bride's expected time of arrival.

Access and Departure times

What time will I gain access to Eastwood House on the day and by what time do I need to vacate?

1.00pm Ceremony

If you have chosen the 1.00pm ceremony only access to Eastwood House is available from 12.00pm and you will be required to vacate the House no later than 2.15pm.  Unfortunately the bride's room will not be available to you if opting for a 1pm ceremony only.

If you have booked Eastwood House for the full day you, your caterers, bar providers and external suppliers can gain access from 10.30am. If you require access prior to 10.30am, we can arrange this for you however additional charges may be applied. To make your event run smoothly we recommend last orders are at 11.15pm with the bar to be closed by 11.30pm.  We recommend the last song should be played for 11.30pm. This will allow for you, your guests, bar provider and DJ/Band to depart the building by midnight.

3.15pm Ceremony

If you have booked Eastwood House for the full day you, your caterers, bar providers and external suppliers can gain access from 10.30am. If you require access prior to 10.30am, we can arrange this for you however additional charges may be applied. To make your event run smoothly we recommend last orders are at 11.15pm with the bar to be closed by 11.30pm. We recommend the last song should be played for 11.30pm. This will allow for you, your guests, bar provider and DJ/Band to depart the building by midnight.

I am getting married and having my meal at Eastwood House. I am having my evening function at Carmichael/Clarkston/Glen Hall. When can I gain access to Carmichael/Clarkston/Glen Hall and what time should I vacate Eastwood House?

Your caterer and external suppliers can gain access to Eastwood House from 10.30am. If you require access prior to 10.30am, we can arrange this for you however additional charges may be applied. Your caterer, bar provider and external suppliers can access Carmichael, Clarkston or Glen Halls from 4.00pm. If you require access prior to 4.00pm, we can arrange this for you however additional charges may be applied. To make your event run smoothly we recommend last orders are at 11.15pm with the bar to be closed by 11.30pm. We recommend the last song should be played for 11.30pm. This will allow for you, your guests, bar provider and DJ/Band to depart the building by midnight. Your caterers should vacate Eastwood House no later than 9.00pm.

Can I get ready at Eastwood House?

Yes. You will have access to the Bride's room from 10.30am on the day of the wedding. This is a large mirrored dressing room with adequate room for relaxing and getting prepared for your ceremony. The Brides Room is only available with certain packages. Please ask the booking team for more information.

What are the staffing arrangements at the House on the day of my wedding?

Our experienced staff will be on duty throughout your special day and help ensure that everything runs smoothly. Our staff will always be clearly identifiable by their uniform.

What are the arrangements for bar and catering services?

Bar

Your bar provider or caterer will be required to apply for an occasional licence to sell alcohol on the premises. For further information and an occasional licence application form, please select here. Unfortunately we do not permit bring your own bottle type events therefore an occasional licence is required.  Please remember to provide us with details of your bar provider when completing your booking form.

Catering

Allowing you flexibility to choose your own catering, we do not currently have in house caterers in any of our wedding venues. Please remember to provide us with details of the company who will be supplying your catering when completing your booking form. This information is required under the Food Safety act 1990 and the Food Hygiene (Scotland) Reg 1996.

Can my bar provider bring in draft kegs?

Yes. The use of draft kegs of beer, lager etc. in premises is limited to where/when it is a safe practice. Permission will only be given to a Caterer or Publican who can satisfy the East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure's Risk Assessment.

Do you provide table linen?

At present we do not provide table linen. Speak to your caterer or an external supplier about what they can provide for you.

Do you provide chair covers?

At present, we do not provide chair covers. You are welcome to arrange this yourself. Please discuss with our staff if you decide to use chair covers on your big day.

Can I bring my own flowers?

Yes. You can bring your own flowers.

Can I decorate the staircase?

No, unfortunately we do not allow any decoration on the main staircase. We can provide a small flower arrangement on the pedestals at the bottom of the staircase or you can supply your own.

Can I have confetti or petals?

Yes. You can use fabric confetti or petals.

Can we have candles?

Unfortunately candles are not permitted you can however use battery operated lights or equivalent if you wish.

Can I have balloons?

Yes. Please ensure any balloons are weighted down.

Can I have a Ceilidh?

Yes.  Please be aware space in the Ballroom at Eastwood House is limited, Carmichael, Clarkston or Glen Hall have a larger dance floor area.

Can I have a DJ or Band?

Yes.  Please arrange this yourself.

Can we have an LED dance floor?

Yes. Please be aware if you wish to have a LED dance floor at Eastwood House there are timing restrictions. Please discuss your requirements with our staff.

Can we have access to a multimedia projector?

Yes.  We have a projector on site; please discuss your requirements with us.

Can we have a chocolate fountain?

Yes.  We ask that fountains are placed away from carpeted areas.  Please ensure the equipment is PAT tested.

Can we have a candy cart?

Yes.  We recommend it is placed on the ground floor.

Can we have a photo booth?

Yes.  We recommend it is placed on the ground floor.  Please ensure the equipment is PAT tested.

Do you permit dogs into your venues?

We permit guide or assistance dogs.

Can I leave any belongings after my wedding?

Yes.  Our staff will advise you where you can leave your belongings and arrange a mutually suitable time for you to collect your belongings. Please be aware any items are left at your own risk.
