Local Digital Art & Design Programmes
We have established several digital projects working with artists, schools and the local community. We also offer various classes for both children and adults in digital art, photography and communications.
To view our full range of classes and courses available for children and adults take a look at our classes and workshops page. Advanced booking is required for all classes. Please contact Eastwood Park Box Office on 0141 577 4956 to book.
Our Digital Art classes are for children in P4-7. The weekly class covers a range of topics including animation, film, photography, digital drawing and design.
During the holidays SwimFilm runs at various venues throughout East Renfrewshire during school holidays. Enjoy an aqua fun session in the pool followed by making your own mini-animation with one of our specialist tutors. Keep an eye on upcoming sessions on the holiday activities section.
Artist In Residence
Our Artist in Residence, James Gow, produced a blog to share his progress and experiences during his residency at the Water works site in Barrhead. You can read James' blog here.
3D Printer Projects
We worked with P6 young people at St John's Primary, Barrhead, to experiment for the very first time with our 3D printer. The class decided to redesign their school and ideas were not in short supply! We learnt lots from the young people's designs as they transferred their brilliant creations into a free app called Tinkercad.
We also worked with P7 pupils from St Thomas' Primary, Neilston, in a joint Arts and Heritage project using 3D printing. Pupils looked at historic maps and images of Neilston to see how the area looked in the past before designing their dream village and printing 3D models of their creations.
We want to help young people to develop their understanding of technology, and the digital and entrepreneurial skills needed to help them succeed in a rapidly growing digital world.
If you are a young person with a glimmer of an idea or a prototype, please get in touch with the arts team to see how we can help it grow!
