This class is for developing basic water confidence, water movement skills through games and guided learning.
This will be an advancement of level 1. This class will develop basic water movements through kicking practice and games. This class will introduce swimming strokes and water confidence to prepare the child for entering the Learn 2 Swim Scheme.
This class will introduce basic water movement through kicking practices of all four strokes. Develop the child's competence in floating in both prone (front)/supine (back) position. This level introduces basic submerging skills and co-ordination. The aim of this level is to teach a child to swim competently for 10 metres breast stroke and swim 5m on back using a recognised stroke.
This level will work towards improving technique unaided. This will develop the kick and introduce the arm pull in all four strokes, whilst improving submersion skills and co-ordination throughout the strokes. The aim of this level is to teach a child to swim 25 metres breast stroke competently, swim on their back for 10 metres and attempt 10 metres front crawl.
Level 5 will develop the kick and introduce arm practices for the four strokes and improve a child's flotation in both prone (front) and supine (back) position. This will also develop submersion skills and co-ordination and develop push and glide practice. The aim of this level is to teach a child to swim competently for 50 metres breaststroke, 25 metres backstroke and attempt to swim 10 metres front crawl.
This level will develop all four swimming strokes and assist the child to maintain good technique over long distances. The aim of this level is to teach a child to swim competently for 50 metres breaststroke, 25 metres backstroke, 25 metres front crawl and develop an awareness of butterfly.
Level 7 is the final level in the Learn 2 Swim Scheme and will further develop all four swimming strokes and assist the child to maintain good technique over longer distances with correct turns. The aim of this level is to teach a child to swim competently for 100 metres breaststroke, 50 metres backstroke, 25 metres front crawl and swim 5 metres butterfly. At this stage the child can either progress onto our Junior Swimfit Classes, Aquazone Classes or go down the competitive route of our local Ren 96 Club.
This class is a pay as you go for children aged 8 years plus who can competently swim 400 metres without stopping. This is the next level transitioning on from Level 7. These classes further enhance strength/stamina, stroke technique, turns, breathing and streamlining, concentrating on all aspects associated with club training. This will help to develop their personal fitness and stamina. These classes will be in deep water.
Lessons are structured around children with either a physical or learning disability or sensory impairment, encouraging them to move and swim through the water with the assistance of a qualified teacher.
These 30 minute lessons are based on individual children working to their own abilities, having fun whilst learning to swim at the same time.
These lessons run in 10 week blocks with Week 9 being re-enrolment week for re booking into next block.
Week 10 is a free fun day for all to enjoy, exclusive to our children and their families who have participated in these swimming lessons.
Individual lessons can be on a 1 to 1 or a 1 to 2 basis. For individual tuition to teach or improve your swimming technique, we offer half hour lessons for 3 years and above (no age limit) including adults. These lessons will develop skills and confidence and focus on specific areas for improvement.
