Eastwood Park Leisure Centre water leak update - East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure Trust

Eastwood Park Leisure Centre water leak update

Updated: Sunday 19 November at 5pm

Eastwood Park Leisure will re-open on Monday 20 November at 7.30am.

The burst water pipe, which closed the Centre last week, has been fixed.  The swimming pool and gym will be open from 7.30 on Monday morning.

We thank all our customers for their patience whilst we worked to restore the water supply to the Centre and we look forward to welcoming you tomorrow morning.

Update: Friday 17 November 4pm

As a result of the burst water pipe earlier this week, Eastwood Park Leisure Centre will remain closed over the weekend. There will be no access to the swimming pool, health suite or gym this evening or on Saturday 18th or Sunday 19th November.

Eastwood Park Theatre will be open tonight, and on Saturday and Sunday nights for theatre shows as planned. Carmichael Hall will also be open for pre-booked events over the weekend.

If there are any changes to these arrangements, we will provide further updates on our website and on social media.

We are unable to open the swimming pool, health suite and gym as the mains water supply to the Centre remains off and it is not possible for the gym and swimming pool to operate during this time. However, back-up water tanks are in place to ensure that toilet facilities are available for customers attending the shows at the theatre and events in Carmichael Hall. Where possible, we have relocated other activities which were scheduled to take place in the centre over the weekend.

We appreciate our customers' patience and apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Update: Friday 17 November 11am

Eastwood Park Leisure Centre and Carmichael Hall will remain closed for the rest of today. Work to repair the burst pipe outside Eastwood Park is continuing and we will give a further update later today.

Eastwood Park Theatre will be open this evening as planned for Beyond Faith, the George Michael musical tribute show.

We thank you for your patience.

We thank you for your patience.

Wednesday 15 November:

This morning a water leak from a burst pipe appears to have triggered and caused a fault to a chlorine alarm at Eastwood Park Leisure Centre. As soon as this occurred our standard procedures were immediately followed and emergency services were notified.

Scottish Fire and Rescue have carried out appropriate testing and monitoring this morning and no chlorine leak has been detected.

Over the course of today the cause of the water leak has been investigated in conjunction with Scottish Water.

The leak has been identified as coming from a burst pipe outside the Centre and work is already underway to fix this as well as a repair to the chlorine alarm.

Regrettably the Eastwood Park Leisure Centre and Theatre will be closed again tomorrow while this work is completed and will reopen as soon as all the necessary checks have been carried out.

We will continue to provide regular updates and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
