Giffnock Community Sport Hub hosted a multi-sports festival for local schools
A total of 395 primary 5 pupils took part in tennis, netball, athletics, football, rugby, judo, karate and squash in a fun-filled day to promote regular participation in sport. Attending the event were Braidbar, Giffnock, Thornliebank, OLM, St Cadoc's, St Clare's and St Joseph's primary schools.
Giffnock Community Sport Hub was founded in 2014 as part of Legacy 2014 and consists of local sports clubs who work together and in partnership with East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure's Sports Development and Active Schools teams for the benefit of the local community. Member clubs currently include All Star NetballERs, Japan Karate Academy, Giffnock Tennis, Squash and Hockey Club, Giffnock Soccer Centre, GHA Rugby Football Club and Giffnock North Amateur Athletics Club. Special guest club Pro Judo also attended this event.
