Sports Coaching & Volunteering

Information on coaching and volunteering

Sports Development offer a wide variety of activities for children, young people and adults.

Our aim is to encourage and motivate people of all ages and abilities to have fun, learn, improve and develop life skills such as respect and responsibility, confidence and compassion, resilience and friendship through sport.

Coaching positively is vital for the development of people and sport. It is essential that individuals delivering sports are supported and trained to a high standard.

We assist by providing opportunities that will:

  • develop coaches and community volunteers who wish to improve their coaching skills
  • gain coaching certification or qualifications
  • give you the chance to join our sports team through coaching or volunteering

To find out more about becoming a coach or developing your existing coaching skills please contact David McLeish.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteers make an invaluable contribution to everyday life within our communities. Volunteering in sport is one of the most diverse, accessible and rewarding opportunities around.

Volunteers play a crucial role in encouraging and supporting participants from grassroots right through to performance sport.

That's why recruiting, developing and retaining volunteers continues to be a priority for Sports Development.

If you are interested in finding out about volunteering and opportunities please contact Gary McGunnigle or David McLeish.
