Here are some recommended websites you can try - at home or in the library - for free tutorials, instructions or advice on learning and improving your digital skills:

GCFLearnFree - hundreds of tutorials on many subjects: technology, the online world, Microsoft Office programs, careers, essential skills for life.

Learn My Way - courses on using a computer, browsing the web, sending an email and finding work online.

Digital Unite technology guides - award-winning range of 400+ how-to guides covers a whole host of digital topics.

SQA Learning Guides - training videos to help people with some common online activities from carrying out a search to using social media, playing games, booking tickets and shopping.

Alison - the ALISON site has tutorials on Microsoft programs, touch-typing, Adobe Photoshop, website creation, and more, under the Technology / IT category. Not just computing, there are also tutorials including personal development, health, languages and many other topics. 

Home and Learn - computer courses for beginners, including Microsoft Word and Excel, plus Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems.

In Pictures - computer tutorials based on pictures, for Microsoft Office programs and more.

Google- try Googling, for example, type in the keywords: free Word tutorial; how to manage files in Windows 7; how to use a tablet; how to bake a chocolate cake.

YouTube - try searching YouTube for videos on your chosen topic, for example, type in: Word 2010; how do I work my tablet; how does the Internet work; how to play the recorder?
