The Root Cause

The Root Cause Project

With funding from SLIC, this exciting new project will allow Thornliebank library’s outdoor space to become a haven for wildlife, play host to a seeding initiative for the local community and become a space that can be used and enjoyed.

The Root Cause will launch a year-long programme of events and activities for all ages to take part in across East Renfrewshire promoting sustainability, sparking conversations around climate change and sharing ideas for ways that we can all make a positive difference.

We are delighted to be working with Thornliebank Primary school children and other key partners in East Renfrewshire.

Get Involved

Volunteering Opportunity:

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to get involved and make a difference in your local community. We are looking for volunteers to help us transform and maintain the outdoor space. If you have green fingers and enjoy gardening and being outdoors, we would love to hear from you.

Community Seed Drive:

We aim to start a seeding initiative as part of the project. We will grow plants that seed each year in Thornliebank library’s garden such as poppies and cornflowers and any seeds that we can collect will be offered to the local community as a way to spread and share the benefits of plants. If you have plants that seed in your garden and would like to donate to the Seeding Initiative- please get in touch.
