One of our larger libraries Mearns provides pleasant surroundings and a friendly atmosphere, situated adjacent to the bustling Avenue Shopping Centre.

Mearns Library is a hive of activity offering a wealth of learning and cultural opportunities and a fantastic range of books and resources including access to internet from one of our PC's or on our free wifi.

You will find a warm welcome from well trained knowledgeable friendly staff on hand to help you with everything from finding information on your local community to help with using technology or choosing and requesting a book.

Mearns Library is host to lots of exciting events and activities for both adults and children including four weekly bookbug sessions.

with Lisa Ballantyne

 Lisa Create killer characters! Come armed with a pen and a dollop of desire to explore the written word and let Scottish author Lisa Ballantyne motivate you to give creative writing a go.

Create killer characters, pack a psychological punch on paper and nail that narrative at this creative writing masterclass. Lisa Ballantyne is author of 'The Guilty One' and 'Redemption Road' and is an experienced teacher who brings a sense of fun to her interactive writing sessions.

Creative juices will be fuelled with refreshments.
