Young gymnasts from East Renfrewshire Culture & Leisure's Gymnastics programme have been showcasing their progress to audiences of family and friends as their current block of classes drew to a close.
With almost 500 gymnasts now involved each week, there was a multitude of impressive skills and adorable routines on show, allowing gymnasts and coaches the opportunity to let everyone see the results of their hard work and enthusiasm. From synchronised group work to lines running skills and partner balances to equipment demonstrations there was even room for gymnasts to show off their personal favourite elements.
All the gymnasts did a fantastic job and when it came to their performances they handled any nerves magnificently. Constructing and choreographing each class' display routine, after getting all their skills ready, is a process that takes weeks of practice and dedication. A huge thanks is owed to the coaching team who have gone above and beyond to make sure the gymnasts put on a great show for everyone. Judging by the glowing response, it has definitely paid off!
William Smith, Gymnastics Development Coordinator
My daughter Grace has been attending the ERCLT gymnastics sessions on a Sunday morning at the Foundry. She is really enjoying the sessions and looks forward to them every week. We have noticed a big improvement in her confidence and her ability and this is down to the professionalism and dedication of the coaches who run the sessions. At the end of the block there was a gymnastics display which all families were invited to attend. The display was very good and it gave ourselves the opportunity to see how well Grace has progressed since joining the programme.

With the new block of classes immediately underway, the gymnasts are now moving forward to improve their skills further and learn new elements of the sport as they aim to achieve their Scottish Gymnastics Award Scheme Certificates in the New Year, followed closely by the return of East Renfrewshire Culture & Leisure's recreational competition.
