Spring has Sprung

The garden has been hibernating over the long winter months but it is always bloomin’ lovely to see the first signs of spring! Our first year of bright yellow daffodils coming up in the garden after planting last Autumn.

We were incredibly grateful when Gareth and his colleagues from Briary Energy in Thornliebank volunteered their time yesterday to help out in the garden. Gareth and co helped to varnish the bench seating to weatherproof it against the relentless Scottish rain, tidied up the mountain of leaves into our composting bag for mulching down and helped to finish edging around the flower and plants at the bottom of the space. Hugely appreciated.

The garden relies on local volunteers to help keep it tidy as well as thriving as a space to be enjoyed. If you are interested in volunteering for a couple of hours or on a more regular basis- we would love to hear from you. You can find out more by emailing: Libraries@ercultureandleisure.org
