Bookbug and Early Learning - East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure Trust

Bookbug and Early Learning

Check out the latest events and activities for your wee ones in the Autumn Brochure.

Bookbug is going away for Christmas. The last Bookbug session of 2017 will be on Sunday 17 December in Barrhead Foundry. Bookbug will be back in libraries, week beginning Monday 15 January 2018. Some session times have changed - please see table below for details.

Our youngest readers are so important to us that we give them a very special First Library Card featuring Hamish the Bear. It's easy to join the library, just drop into your nearest East Renfrewshire Library with some identification or complete the online joining form and start your child on the road to a lifelong love of books and libraries. With touch and feel books, board books and picture books, DVDs, Bookbug and storytelling sessions, your child is never too young to join the library.

rise and shine A brand new monthly activity for pre-school children has begun! 'Rise and Shine Storytime' will bring stories to exciting life using senses and imagination and will end with a mini-maker activity for little ones to get creative. Each month we will explore a different theme. For 4-5 year-olds.

Bookbug and storytimes

Spark your wee ones' imaginations and let Bookbug and storytimes bring books, reading and learning to life.

Every week there will be silly songs and stories for you and your little ones to enjoy together and, of course, bubbles aplenty! Come along and join in the fun at these interactive sessions for children and their carers. We hold tailored Bookbug Sessions for babies and for toddlers as well as open sessions for children aged 0 - 4 years. Due to the popularity of sessions and limitations of space we ask that no more than two adults accompany each child.
