Bookbug and Early Learning

Bookbug has returned to East Ren libraries. Things will look and feel a little bit different as we gradually phase sessions back in across libraries.

  • Sessions are suitable for 0-4 years
  • Sessions can be booked for the following week by calling the library after 10am each Friday
  • Bookings will be taken on a first come first serve basis and we can only accept bookings by telephone
  • Numbers are limited and are guided by space available at each library
  • As space is limited, we ask that only one adult attends per booking
  • If you have booked a place but then can’t make it, please let the library know.
  • We will update the table below as more sessions are added in. Details are posted every Wednesday on social media

Spark your wee ones' imaginations and let Bookbug bring books, reading and learning to life. Every week there will be silly songs and stories for you and your little ones to enjoy together.

Due to the popularity of sessions and limitations of space we ask that no more than two adults accompany each child.

Bookbug is Scottish Book Trust's national Early Years programme. As a national charity, Scottish Book Trust delivers the Bookbug programme locally by working in partnership with local library and education services and third sector organisations. To support local delivery of the Bookbug programme, Scottish Book Trust provides its partners with training, advice and Bookbug bags of books.

Bookbug APP

Download our free Bookbug app to share songs and rhymes on the go, look up new words or make up your own songs and rhymes to our new instrumental versions! Apps can be great for supporting children's learning and encouraging play and creativity. Bookbug's Songs and Rhymes app is one more way to fit songs and rhymes into your day and it's here to support you as you play and sing with your wee one.
Explore the app together and create your own personalised play lists. You can also use the app to find your nearest Bookbug Session! Visit the App Store or Google Play to download.
