Beyond 2020: Community Reflections Creative Writing

Our Creative Writing Pieces

Earlier this year, author and playwrite, Alan Bissett facilitated two writer’s workshops as part of the project, one at Giffnock Library and the following at Barrhead Foundry Library.

Participants enjoyed four sessions with Alan who guided them towards writing a piece about their own covid experience. The first session was an opportunity to reflect, remember and share experiences of the pandemic as a group. Thereafter, Alan shared extracts of published works to inspire, writing exercises to help participants reflect onto paper and opportunities to share written work with others in the group in a supportive setting. The final written works on display and available to read online are the end products of the wonderful sessions and of the talented participants who have captured their Covid stories beautifully.
